Astros Advance to World Series

It was a series that had plenty of emotions to go around, but in the end, the Houston Astros have advanced to the World Series after downing the Yankees 4-0 in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.

After taking a 2-0 series lead while at home, three straight losses in the Bronx put pressure on the Astros to come back and finish the job so they could advance to their first World Series in twelve years – when the Astros were still in the National League.

It started with an Evan Gattis solo homerun in the fourth to break the 0-0 tie…

Later in the fifth inning, Brian McCann padded the lead with a double that was good enough for Correa and Gurriel to come home…

It was all said in done with George Springer’s out in center field.

McCullers and Morton’s combined three hits officially led the Astros to their first American League pennant and only their second World Series appearance.

Game 1 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers starts Tuesday, October 24 at 7:09 PM.
